The calendar of sports fishing in 2021 is expanding.

The International Federation of Freshwater Sport Fisheries FFSF has announced that in 2021 world championships in three new disciplines will be organized. Unfortunately, there is already a canceled competition for this year.

The international calendar for the current year has been updated and the following are of interest:

Feeder Free Style Methood, which will take place in Hungary on September 18 and 19. The host is the town of Batoniterenie in the northern part of the country. The other news is that a world Master Feeder competition (over 55) will be organized. It is scheduled for September 4 and 5, 2021 in the Spanish city of Merida. For this tournament, each nation has the right to participate with up to two teams.

Another new world championship will be organized in the discipline Trout Area - trout fishing with artificial lures in a closed pond. The competitions are on November 13 and 14 in Italy, and no host city has been named yet. Trout Area tournaments have been held in Bulgaria for several years now, with a fairly solid presence.

On November 27 and 28 in Amsterdam will be held the world championship in the discipline Street Fishing Nations - fishing for predators with artificial lures in urban environments.

At its first meeting, the Board of BFFS is expected to consider the issue of new disciplines, as well as the possible organization of competitions to determine national teams to represent Bulgaria.

IMPORTANT: FIPS warns that due to the emergency situation with Covid-19, each of the world championships in the international calendar for 2021 will be confirmed two months before the announced date. The organization recommends not to rush to hire flights and accommodation.

Unfortunately, the situation forced the 18th World Ice Fishing Championship, which was to be held in February in Lithuania, to be postponed to 2022.
